Artist StatementEach of us hold a separate version of reality and a separate concept of truth. Your lived experience is unique to your individual consciousness, suspended in a liminal space of your own imagining. A finished piece is an interwoven story of my personal journey over the period of time I spent making it. The fluid work is created in release, letting go of the aches of the day, shaking off the harshness of working to survive. A moment where I can be free to dive into unapologetic existence. The line work depicts my struggle to accept my true self; a symbol of my anxiety, my trauma, and my fear. This tension explores the space between free creative expression and the manifestations of the ego. The friction between movement and stasis; life, death, and rebirth. |
